We have built a new house in the old garden of no 16 Park Lane and have tried to make it as close as possible to the three existing cottages.

We have had an air sourced heat pump with underfloor heating at our existing house in Bretton for the last 10 years and have found it extremely good so there was never any question of what heating system to install. Due to the size of the surrounding garden air source, not ground source, was the only viable option.

The company who fitted our previous system were no longer covering Yorkshire so the architect recommended Gary Douglas and YRES. I am delighted that he did as I found working with all the staff a pleasure. They listened to our requirements and made several good suggestions as the technology has moved on considerably since our original system was fitted. One of Joanne’s worries was the noise from the outdoor unit on our old system. Gary took us to Nebe’s headquarters to demonstrate how much quieter they have become.

The installation covers underfloor heating and hot water. The heating is essentially controlled by thermostats in every room which keeps the house at a constant preset temperature. It is so efficient that you never really know what the outside weather is like!

We have found that both our systems are good but the new Nebe system is definitely much the better of the two, it is more efficient, quieter and cheaper to run.

I would recommend anyone who is either building from new or replacing an existing heating system to definitely use YRES and an air sourced heat pump. There are more companies installing heat pumps now but the technology is improving all the time and it is essential to use a manufactures credited installer such as YRES.
